Strava Gower SUP race series
So you fancy getting competitive without all the build up…you would rather just get ready on your own, turn up like you’re about to do a workout and blitz it without worrying about false starts or someone getting in your way?
Well – we’ve got the solution for you with the free app ‘Strava’ download for your phone.
This Spring / summer series we have set a few SUP challenges for you to complete.
Do these challenges whenever you like (pending suitable conditions) and then download your times and route online …We’ll know if you’ve cheated !
There will be a prize giving ceremony for each route at the end of the season
Choose your Routes
1. River Tawe – Swansea – From under sail bridge to 1st copper quarter bridge and back – 6k
2. High water Swansea bay The SUP HUT Classic 3k SUP race – from 360 cafe out to navigation post and back a distance of around 3k.
Please check the conditions are suitable , the calmer the better and the faster you’ll paddle – remember if you have your mobile phone on you in a waterproof case and get into difficulty Call 999 ask for coastguard.
3. High water Mumbles. From slipway in front of The Pilot pub set off keeping no more than 50m from the shoreline towards West cross Inn and back. distance ?

4. High water Mumbles – From slipway in front of The Pilot pub set off towards the pier keeping no more than 50m from the shoreline, paddle under the pier and immediately left towards the new RNLI station around and the straightest route possible back to the slipway. distance ?
All you need do is download the app and pop your phone in a waterproof case – get ready and do the workout – you can even try and beat your time on a weekly basis.
